ေရွးစကားလား လွေတာသားစကားလား

တစ္ခါက ပုတီးအပတ္ေစ႔ေအာင္ဆိုၿပီး တေဒါက္ေဒါက္နဲ႔ခပ္ျမန္ျမန္စိပ္ေနတဲ႔ အဘြားႀကီးတစ္ေယာက္ကို ျမန္လွပါလား လို႔ လူတစ္ေယာက္ကေမးတယ္၊ ဒါနဲ႔ အဲဒီ အဘြားႀကီးက ပုတီးအပတ္ေစ႔ေအာင္ခပ္ျမန္ျမန္စိပ္ေနတာလို႔ေျဖတယ္။ ဒီေတာ႔လူက အပတ္ေစ႔ဖို႔ဆိုရင္ေတာ႔ ေမာ္တာထဲ ထည္႕လွည္႔လိုက္ရင္ ပိုျမန္တာေပါ႔ လိ႔ု ျပန္ေထ႔တယ္၊ ေကာင္းတာလုပ္ေနတဲ႔လူကို ဒီလုိေျပာတာေတာ႔မေကာင္းဘူးေပါ႔၊ ဒါေပမယ္႔ သူေျပာလိုက္ပံုေလးကေတာ႔ ေတာ္ေတာ္ေကာင္းတယ္။


အဂၤလိပ္လိုမွာလည္း စကားပုံ (proverb) နဲ႔လက္ျဖစ္၊ လက္တန္းစကား (Aphorism) ဆိုတာ႐ိွပါတယ္၊ ပုဂၢလိကအျမင္ကိုေျပာရင္းနဲ႔ ဒီစကားေတြကလူထုထဲေရာက္သြားၿပီး ေယဘုယ်ဆန္သြားတာမ်ိဳးပါ။ ဒါေလးေတြနဲ႔ပတ္သက္လို႔ တုိင္းမ္ မဂၢဇင္းထဲက အက္ေဆးဆရာ Stefan Kanfer ရဲ႕ Proverbs or Aphorisms? ထဲက စိတ္ဝင္စားစရာ စကားေလးေတြကို ဆြဲထုတ္မိပါတယ္။

ၿပဳံးရင္း၊ ရယ္ရင္းနဲ႔ အဂၤလိပ္စကားလုံးတစ္ခ်ိဳ႕႐ႏိုင္တာေပါ့။

သူေ႐ြးျခယ္ထားတဲ႔ စကားေတြကိုေတာ႔ ဘာသာမျပန္ပဲထားလိုက္ပါတယ္၊ အဂၤလိပ္လိုနားလည္ဖို႔ေတာ႔မခက္ပါဘူး၊ သေဘာေပါက္ဖို႔ေတာ႔ နည္းနည္းစဥ္းစားရမယ္ထင္ပါတယ္။ အကယ္ဒမစ္ ဂ်ဳတ္ေလးေတြမို႔ပါ။ Robert Benchley ႐ဲ႕အလိုအရ လူတန္းစားႏွစ္မ်ိဳးပဲ႐ွိပါတယ္။

ပထမအုပ္စုျဖတ႔ဲ Robert Benchley တို႔အဖြဲ႔က လွေတာသားစကားအုပ္စုျဖစ္ၿပီး ဒုတိယအဖြဲ႔ကေတာ႔ စကားပုံကို ပိုႏွစ္သက္ၾကပါတယ္။

Love နဲ႔ပတ္သက္ၿပီး "Whom the gods love die young." ဆုိတဲ႔စကားပုံက သခ်ဳႋင္းကုန္းမွာငိုေနတဲ႔ အဘိုးႀကီး ၊ အဘြားႀကီးေတြအတြက္ စိတ္မသက္သာစရာျဖစ္ေစၿပီး "Love is blind." ကလည္း ေဈးထဲက အတင္းေျပာသူေတြ၊တြတ္ထိုးေနတဲ႔ဆယ္ေက်ာ္သက္ ေက်ာင္းသားေလးေတြ လူမႈေ႐းျပႆနာ အတိုင္ပင္ခံေတြ႐ဲ႕ လက္သုံးစကား ျဖစ္ေနျပန္ပါတယ္။

"Proverbs ဆိုတာ အေတြ႔အႀကံဳအမ်ားႀကီးကို ေဖာ္ျပတဲ႔ ဝါက်တိုတိုေလးပါ" လို႔ Cervantes ကဆိုတယ္၊ ဒါကို Sancho တို႔အုပ္စုက သေဘာက်ၿပီး "There is no sauce in the world like hunger." "Never look for birds of this year in the nets of the last." "Patience, and shuffle the cards." လို႔ ေထာက္ခံခဲ႔ၾကတယ္။

သူတုိ႔ေခတ္ၿပိဳင္ Hamlet က သေဘာမေတြ႔လွဘူး။ "Proverb is something musty." စကားပံုက အေဟာင္းေစာ္ နံတယ္လို႔ဆိုတယ္။ ဒါေပမယ္႔သူ႕ ျပဇာတ္ထဲမွာက်ေတာ႔ စကားပံုေတြက စီးေမ်ာေနျပန္ေရာ။ "Men are April when they woo; December when they wed; A little pot and soon hot." "The fashion wears more apparel than the man." တဲ႔။

သူေျပာမွစဥ္းစားစရာေလးတစ္ခု ျဖစ္သြားေတာ႔တယ္။ ဟုတ္တယ္၊ ဖက္႐ွင္က အလွထက္အဝတ္ပိုကုန္တယ္။ တစ္ခါက စာေရးဆရာတစ္ေယာက္ေရးထားတာကေတာ႔ ေယာက်္ားစစ္စစ္ေတြက ဖက္ရွင္႐ွဳိးမၾကည့္ ၊ ေမာ္ဒယ္႐ွဳိးပဲၾကၫ္႔သတဲ႔။ ဟုတ္ မဟုတ္ေတာ႔မသိပါဘူး။

Benjamin Franklin ကေတာ႔ "Three may keep secret, if two of them are dead." ဒီစကားကသေရာ္ဟန္စြက္ေနေပမယ္႔ "The used key is always bright." တဲ႔။ ဒါကိုက်ေတာ႔ ရီယယ္လစ္ဇင္ ဆန္ဆန္ေျပာခဲ႔ျပန္ေရာ။

အေရွ႕ဥေ႐ာပ Tolstoy ရဲ႕ စကားေတြက ရွင္းရွင္းလင္းလင္း႐ွိသလို ေဗာ္ဒကာနံ႔ခပ္သင္းသင္းလည္းရေနျပန္တယ္။ "Where the needle goes, the thread follows."တဲ႔။ ဒါေလးက ေရွးစာဖက္ပိုဆင္ေနေပမယ္႔ "The devil pours honey into other man's wife." က်ေတာ႔ လူ႕ကာ႐ိုက္တာကို ျပက္ရယ္ျပဳသလိုလိုျဖစ္ေနတာ ခံစားရျပန္တယ္။ သူ႕သေရာ္ဟန္က "The Russian has three strong principles; perhaps, somehow and never mind." မွာ အထြတ္အထိပ္ကိုေရာက္ခဲ႔တယ္။

Tolstoy နဲ႔ ခံစားခ်က္တူတာက Cossacks ပါ။ သူ႕မွတ္ခ်က္ကေတာ႔ ဆိုဗီယက္ လူ႕အဖြဲ႔အစည္းကို ခပ္တင္းတင္း မီးေမာင္းထိုးျပခဲ႔တယ္။
